Love is an acceptable form of insanity

Unrequited love is an acceptable form of rejection

It’s the constant feeling of uncertainty

Falling upon false impressions

From over-read simple conversations

We sit here and wonder, cry, and complain

Listen to overrated love songs about heartache

(Or avoid them completely)

Because they seem to fit the situation perfectly

Scream at romantic comedies because ours is so plain

But can we really blame the person who said no?

Do we really need to point the fault at someone else?

Rather than admit that we were a little too over our heads

Or that we expected too much

Or we wasted too little time?

Thought too hard and said nothing at all

Or said it too soon because timing said it was wrong

Well unrequited love is rejection

That timing planned
